Renewable Hydrogen Generation for Aviation

This working group seeks to guarantee the supply of hydrogen demanded by the aviation sector, for which it is considered essential to address the following points:

  • Demand
    .
  • Identification of the types of demand (consumption in handling vehicles, in aircraft, for production of PBS, etc.), their location and their growth over time.
  • Production
  • Evaluation of current renewable hydrogen production plans to determine whether they will be able to supply aviation demand, taking into account both production capacities and location.
  • Identification of the most critical areas where it is necessary to promote renewable hydrogen production projects or transport hydrogen from more distant plants.
  • Logistics
  • Study of the different forms of hydrogen transport to connect the production points with the consumption points.
  • Sizing of the storage capacities needed to guarantee the hydrogen supply that each form of transport will require.
  • Study of the guarantee of origin systems necessary to certify that the hydrogen finally consumed is renewable.
  • Regulation and standardization
  • Determination of the critical points at the regulatory and standardization level in order to carry out hydrogen production and transportation.
  • Analysis of the barriers encountered in other working groups, whether at the national or international level.
  • Elaboration of a series of recommendations to overcome these barriers.
